New to the agency I'm delighted to present this outstanding music, dance and comedy duo who have more than a whiff of the kind of physical theatre which the Old and New Rope String Bands made so popular. Chuck and Albert (that's Al-bear, pronounced the French way please) are Acadian French performers, who transcend all language barriers.
Canadian Comedy Award and East Coast Music Award nominees, Chuck & Albert are no strangers to the art of total entertainment. Multi-instrumentalists, great physical comics, and fluently bilingual, this Acadian duo has played to standing ovations both at home, across Canada and overseas. Their performances bring to life an energetic blend of visual humor and quick wit combined with the upbeat foot-stomping music and dance of their indigenous Prince Edward Island Acadian roots.
Chuck Arsenault
A native of Montague, P.E.I., Chuck has always had a zest for entertaining, whether through skits, songs, or his own form of "eye" brow comedy. After obtaining a degree in music at the University of Prince Edward Island, he focused on rediscovering his French- Acadian roots. He considers himself lucky to be able to entertain in both of Canada's "un"official languages - laughter and music.
Albert Arsenault
A 20-year veteran of the stage from St. Chrysostome, P.E.I., Albert has always known how to please an audience and continues the fiddling legacy of his father Eddy Arsenault. A talented singer, Albert’s vocal interpretations are one of a kind. His great comedic presence, fine musicianship and genuine demeanour (not to mention his expressively mobile face) shine through in every performance whether the audience's age is eight or 88!
Chuck & Albert have been performing clean, creative and highly interactive entertainment since 2004. With a keen eye on Acadian history and its relevance to current art forms today, they provide audiences with an engaging and authentic panorama of PEI Acadian musical, cultural and dance traditions. Chuck & Albert believe two things: that every situation, no matter how grim, will be happily resolved; and that Chuck, who is thirty-nine years old, will never be able to do his own laundry.
