"When it comes to folk music, you can't get any better than Steve Turner." - Midlands Folk Monthly

Steve TurnerSteve Turner is a pioneer of highly sophisticated English concertina song accompaniments, stretching the boundaries of traditional forms, with one of the best voices in the business. He is a multi-instrumentalist, who also accompanies himself on the mandolin and tenor banjo.

Steve Turner turned professional in 1979. After a break he returned to the scene in 2004. Nine albums and thousands of gigs later he remains one of the UK's finest entertainers, performing in folk clubs and at festivals at home and abroad.

In 2025 he's already toured Australia and the USA as well as playing all across the UK. He'll be back in the USA in the autumn where he's booked for the Portsmouth Maritime Festival in New Hampshire for the third time. He's currently recording his tenth album which will be out towards the end of 2025.

“For me in terms of song accompaniment, he is the foremost concertina player of his generation - the Master." – Pete Heywood, Living Tradition
